History :
Early 2003, Just out of college Harish and Ganesh Ram decides to continue
their musical journey which started as part of their college band by jamming
up in their apartment. The idea of playing and composing original music was
always something that excited them and more and more they jammed together,
their music started taking a new definition. Late 2004, Harish & Ganesh
composed the instrumental piece Brahma’s dance, which gained them instant
recognition across the music circuits and Blogosphere and under the name
project f6, Harish & Ganesh performed live at many prestigious venues like
Unmaad 2004.

The band took a critical turning point when Ganesh met Swaminathan (Swamy)
during a live performance. Swamy was a musician with good sense of raga’s
and scales, an amazing tamil poet and a composer. The initial spark was so
intense that in no time the band did its first collaborative effort – a
Tamil lullaby – Ammu. This song was a runaway hit in the Blogsphere with
more than 8100 hits till date. The success of Ammu was followed by Aarariro– another tamil compostion that won many fans for the trio in the
Blogosphere. Through the songs and the innumerable jamming sessions that the
trio had, their music was now taking a much more distinct style – A style
that had a clear thematic significance both in the music as well as the
poetry. Agam was born. The English – Hindi – Tamil composition “Hope “in
support of the Can Conquer Cancer initiative won the third place in the
international blogging competition in support of the Cancer victims. Agam
released some of their in the songs in the blogosphere as a dedication to
the non profitable organization, “The Rakum School of Blind www.rakum.org”
and helped them raise funds.
At a point when we were wondering about avenues to take our efforts to the
next level, Saregama’s Oohlalala (Band Hunt Talent Show) came as a blessing
to Agam.
Musically Apollo (Apollo is the God of Music in Greek) aka Shree ARRahman
was the backbone of this show and we all thought that there couldn’t have a
better opportunity than this. At this point Vignesh, TPK, Shrek, Naren and
Sowmya joined the band. We went through pain stacking weeks of practice,
travel (driving between Bangalore and Chennai), sacrifices with mixed
emotions and experiences. AR Rahman’s judgment in Oohlalala which was a
holistic and a paradigm shift from the conventional way, blessed us with the
coveted title and this was a key milestone in Agam’s musical career.
Agam produces music and does live shows and fund raisers for charitable
organizations. Recently Agam collaborated with NGO’s OXYFAM (through Yahoo!)
and Eureka child to generate funds for the Bihar flood relief efforts. |
